“My artwork is informed by my perceptions and experiences. That creative process speaks of a deep reverence for life and the process of living and loving. I believe art is an expression of the divine.
“Is it my intention to create something beautiful? The morning sun rises and, by doing so, creates something we consider to be a work of art. Birds outside sing song and, by following their natural instincts, compose melodies that we find pleasing to the ear. Likewise, by following my own instinctual rhythms and harmonies that lead towards an ease of living – towards leading a healthy and vibrant life – I can create something that expresses a natural and instinctual beauty.
“Artwork is a way, for me, of breaking down the barriers between the world within myself and the world this “I” experiences. When I break down those barriers I find a sense of open awareness and unity. This awareness can be used to examine myself and my relationships with the world around me. By doing this I hope to create a healthier world for myself and others.
“When I’ve finished a painting, I have something that reflects this self-examination, expressing aspects of my own very human nature and my relationship with the divine. Human experience follows numerous archetypal patterns and we all share in a deep collective ocean of consciousness layered with memories, symbols and patterns. The experience I have of spirit and matter and the truths I find in my exploration thereof are echoed in these patterns. By being open to allowing these patterns and designs, archetypes and symbols to channel through me and by following them to their roots and heights, our divine nature and the nature of reality itself can be revealed.”
